You are invited to Mug Morning…
To help you get better acquainted with the people and activities of New Friends of Kansas City we have organized a monthly coffee for guests, new members or members who want to make new friends.
These gatherings are held in existing member's homes and offer the opportunity to meet with Board Members and Activity Leaders about what New Friends has to offer you. You'll get an overview of the interest groups, our philanthropies, and the kind of people you'll get to know in our group.

New Friends promotes selected charities through service and volunteer opportunities.
Our ongoing charity is the Cross-Lines Cooperative Counsel, a not-for-profit organization with programs designed to prevent homelessness. Cross-Lines provides emergency assistance, hygiene products, a thrift store, school supplies, a Christmas store, and community education opportunities. New Friends provides 100 sack lunches each month which are distributed to clients who cannot get to the Cross-Lines site for a hot lunch. Our group also collects items for Cross-Lines that are not covered by government assistance such as hygiene items and batteries.
New Friends conducts a winter coat drive in the Fall to support the Cross-Lines Christmas store. In addition, several of our members volunteer at the Christmas store by assisting clients in their selection of clothing, toys, household goods, and food for a holiday meal.
On an annual basis, a charity is selected to be the recipient of the annual monetary donation. The charity should primarily benefits women and children and not be affiliated with a specific religion or church. The donation is made after all expenses for the year have been paid and expenses for the coming NFKC year’s beginning budget have been determined.
Past recipients include:
2014 – New House
In addition to our Philanthropic efforts, New Friends’ Members join together to donate time and talents to non-faith based charitable activities. To date members have donated their time to the following charities:
